New Name for the kid
In the blog-world way of giving funny nic-names to family and friends, I have gotten into the habit of referring to my kids by their ages. Well, today, Thirteen officially changed his name to Fourteen.
Which means I am officially much older than I look. ;p
I'm proud of my long-hair-wearin', perfect-harmony-singin', political-bloggin', first-born son. I always told him that he was a magic baby. He performed magic the moment he was born. He turned a plain, ordinary, woman into...........a mother. :)

Perfectly Wicked
I try to avoid most of the reality shows as a general rule. But from the first time I heard about it,
Wickedly Perfect had my attention. The show "...pits 12...perfection-obsessed contestants...to compete in different areas of beautifying the home and entertaining."
I don't really believe the winner will be 'the next Martha' or anything, (they'll probably just fade into reality-show winner oblivion until some 'where-are-they-now' show), but it's fasinating to watch from a creative view point. The contestants are given a specific creative task, with certain expectations and restrictions, and it's interesting to see how each individual handles their task. It's kind of like forced art. Commando Creativity, if you will.
So I thought I'd kinda play along at home. In the
first episode, the contestants were charged to make things using all the apples they picked. So I made something with an apple, too. Just one. Don't need to cover the whole table. ;p

I just changed a tire in my jammies
I had been trying to ward off getting sick for a few weeks. But we were all passing around the 'bug' at work, people were out for a week or more sometimes. My office partner was out for a week and a half, and I had to hold down the fort without her. She made it back last Monday, and I stayed working until Thursday mid-day. Slept all day Friday, and most of Saturday and Sunday. I'm starting to feel better, but one more day of sleep.
So this morning, I slip my jeans on overtop my jammies to drive the kids to school. Then I'll just compute a bit while drinking my thera-flu junk, and then go back to bed. But NO... a block and a half from my house, I hear something. Sh*t, I know that sound. I turned off the heater to hear it better, and had shotgun kid peek out, sure enough, flat tire. So the kids walked from there, probably ended up being a tad late, I pulled around the corner and put on the donut. I don't know how I managed it, I'm so tired, sore, and weak. Now I'm completely wiped out.
I hope my little brother stops to check his taxes on-line, then he can go get my tire repaired for me.
