Virus

I lost a couple days this week due to catching a strange virus, still feel like I'm playing 'catch-up'.
Luckily, only fever and body aches, and sleeping (and hot garlic soup) knocked it out.
Strangest fever I've ever had, and I had one once that actually produced hallucinations, this one came upon me so suddenly, I thought I was starting hot flashes or something. And I had a milder case than some at work.
What ever you do, don't catch this nasty virus.

Weekend Goal

Yes, the sewing machine is on the work table. The weekend was a success.

Weekend Links

This hat project sounded very fitting for me, as the weekend goal is to get the work area table ready for the sewing machine. A flowered hat is next on my list of finishing.
There are many interesting and inspiring things at
Comfort Queen, including a personal journal to help keep you on track. This reminds me of my Project Creation idea. And a whole collection of Vagina Art.

Doing

It's been a week of doing rather than writing. A lot of three-generation fun going on. Game night (the older generation has surely missed some of the newer pop culture trivia), the local Zoo, getting my brakes fixed (thanks, Dad!), and going to Fiddler On The Roof at the Pinewood Bowl.
Watching a nice rendition of one of my all-time favorite musicals under the stars sitting between my parents and my children.
I AM a rich (wo)man.

The summer of finishing...

This summer I'm working on finishing projects, or just realizing I'm never going to finish something and getting rid of it (more on that later). So far, I've been doing pretty well finishing some old things, just finished one project that was inspired and started probably 5 years ago. (Pictures soon)
But all this finishing has lit the start fire, too. And I've got two projects in the hopper, in the thinking about stage, that I hope to finish this summer also.
A colored pencil/watercolor still life, subject still undecided, and a beaded pin or pendant made with beaded embrodery and fringe, design also still undecided. Now that I've been inspired with the medium, I'm just working on the subject matter/designs.
Busy checking any/all inspiration and trying to 'break my eye open'.

Vacation

Long weekend without the kids. Well, the really big, cuddly kid was here, but that's different. ;)
Always hard to get back into the swing of things, and the kids actually had almost a whole week vacation, so even harder for them to get back into things.
Question for today:
When you take a vacation from work, even for a long weekend, do you take a 'vacation' from your creative hobbies, too?

The Garden

You can tell that it's been a nice, wet spring when...
you finally need to get out the hose to water the flowers, and discover that it's woven into the ground cover and you have to hack through to get it free.
:)
Some of this year's flowers are now showing in the gallery.
