Happy Turkey Day!
I won't be updating the blog for a few days. Server moving, plus getting ready to play hostess Thursday.
Busy, busy, busy.
So everyone have a great Thanksgiving!

Late Pictures
I'm embarrassed that I sat on the Halloween pictures so long that I didn't realize that FotoPages had made a bunch of updates!
Here's the latest pix.

Adorable Soda
Hey, everybody go vote for Dave (Kermit the Blog)'s Jones soda label entry! It's his cute baby daughter, pure soda material!

Talkin' Turkey
Sunday I left The Food Network turned on in the background part of the afternoon. Ideas for Thanksgiving, and those wonderful sugar sculptures. I had to try melting sugar for myself, it was very interesting to watch it go from little granulars to clumps to lumpy almost-liquid to actual liquid. I did leave it on the heat a tad too long but it was just an experiment, so no big deal.
I played with what to do with it when it's hot, and I came up with a new candy sensation. I poured the liquid sugar over frozen cranberries, and now have some funny cranberry candies. I think this recipe can be perfected, but I probably won't play with sugar again until after Turkey Day. I'm hosting, so have a few things to do, decide exactly how to cook the turkey. One Food TV person put lemons inside the turkey, another put bacon on the turkey. Lots of ideas.
One Thanksgiving weird favorite is one I heard on NPR several years ago. Try it-I dare you!. Cranberry Relish

De Kooning
Super!! You are WILLEM DE KOONING.
You think just like you paint: in the abstract. You
live well outside of the box and never know
where life will take you next. Your friends
admire your ability to fearlessly veer away
from the boundaries of society.

Which famous artist most reflects your personality?

I usually post all the Quizzes on the Other Blog, but this one is perfect for the 'creative theme' of Technicolor Day. (Link from: The Queen)

The Lifetime Movie Title Generator gave me a few good names for a movie about my life (IF I had a tumor or scurvy or murdered someone).
Which one would you watch?

Art Randomness
This interesting artwork somehow reminds me of the Saturday morning show I watched as a kid, The Curiousity Shop. (I had the lunchbox)

I don't know why.
I think it's the snail.

Tidbits

Here's a funny list of really Bad Sites, I didn't even try to open the couple that said 'not for dial-up' I know they'd constipate my system.
I've actually done the this week. On my Quizzy Blog.
And our terror level today is brought to you by the letters Q and T:

Zoo Keeper
This little game is just like several games you've seen before, Gem something or Candy something, but this one is little animals. The biggest difference, is that you have to get a certain number of each animal 'rounded up' (I'm guessing what the Japanese says), to get to the next level.
And when you've got all the animals but one, that one gets mad. It's funny.

Bead-a-holic
Got the new Bead & Button magazine in the mail the other day. I've been subscribing for a few years, and this anniversary issue is the absolute biggest and best they've ever put out. If you are at all interested in jewelry, beads, clay, wire, colorful ideas, or oh yeah, buttons, pick this up.
So many beautiful and interesting things.
And a few items to put on my wish list.

One More
OK, I'm embarrassed to have so many posts reciently about the boob tube, but one more necessary observation:
Tonight's episode of Judging Amy is the big wedding scene, complete with guest apperance by long-lost brother (who since leaving the show has 'come out' on Will and Grace). I'm expecting a turn-around for this show, as it is dangerously close to jumping the shark, and I will be watching in anticipation of Amy sending Stewart packing.
It's probably a good sign, that in looking up these links, the actor playing Stewart isn't listed on the regular cast list.
OK, that's the last of the TV posts for a while, I promice. Now back to your regularly scheduled post.

TV Tidbits
A few more observations from recent television.
I didn't watch any of the Joe Schmo reality show, but I did flip past an interview this weekend where they were talking to the guy and asking him if he was ever suspicious. They showed scenes where the crew and actors were convinced that 'Joe' was on to them, but he was clue-less. Observation: If they made this show with a female contestant (Joelle Schmo?), she would have figured it out. That's all I'm saying.
Tonight, I had been planning on checking out Average Joe, the kids and I wanted to see if that girl really acts as much of a b*tch as she appears to on the commercial, AND because I love Kathy Griffin! But it turns out it was on later than I thought, (after the kids' TV time is over), and at the same time as CSI:Miami, which is on my usually-watch list, so looks like that Joe will not be watched, either.
Miami is one show I would not have watched at all if I didn't already love CSI, because I really do NOT like David Caruso. I'm glad I gave Miami a chance, because I like the other characters so much they balance out the awful Caruso character. Especially the chicks.

Sunday, November 2

By the way...
Did anyone else notice that the Oxygen network has a soft-core sex show late Sunday evening? And I don't mean that wrinkled old lady showing positions with her dolls. This is like 'skin-a-max' or something you'd have to pay for. Sheesh. Glad my kids go to bed early on Sunday nights. ;)

Chalk Lines
New on the Art & Photography page of my site, an experiment in Chalk.
Also, the latest contest at Worth that I entered just finished, there were so many good photos, but I forgot to vote again, darn it.

Neighborly Spirits
Halloween night, I walked around with the kids, but didn't want our house to be another unlit house not giving out candy, so I left my glow-in-the-dark candy bowl on the lit porch for a serve yourself treat. I was a little leery that everything would be taken, including the bowl, but I decided to do it as an experiment.
Not only was the bowl still there, but it was still almost half full. So folks did take some candy & gifts, but no one was a jerk and took it all or stole the bowl. Very nice treat to have when we got home.
